Ever wanted to feel the wind in your face while standing on the wooden deck of one of the world’s greatest tall ship?

Now you can!

Tickets for the premier event in the South Sound go on sale to the public May 19 but members of the Tacoma Tall Ships® Organization can purchase tickets now.

Tickets are available to tour the vessels as well as to go sailing. A variety of sales packages designed specifically for groups are also available.

Whether you are a landlubber or an old salt, you won’t be able to ignore the appeal of the tall ships so don’t wait for your chance to experience the adventure.  Join TTSO now and reserve your spot – if you miss the boat the next sailing won’t be until 2011.

BOARDING PASSES

Boarding passes are available for July 4, 5, 6 and 7 to tour more than 30 ships while they are moored in the Thea Foss Waterway.  At any given time about 50 percent of all the ships will be available for tours.

No ticket is needed to tour the USCG Eagle.

Boarding passes are date-specific and must be exchanged for a wristband at the festival before boarding. 

Children aged 10 and younger are free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Ships will be available for tours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but lines for boarding will close each day at 5 p.m.

Guests must abide by all boarding regulations to visit the ships (see below).

Please note that boarding passes are to tour vessels only, they do not include access for sailing adventures. 

General Boarding Pass    $10 per day
Allows access to all of the B and C class vessels as well as access to a special viewing area for the Class A vessels.

Premium Boarding Pass   $20 per day
Allows access to all vessels plus the Niña, HMS Bounty and Kaisei.

Treasure Pass     $60 (Four-Day Pass)
Allows access to all vessels including the Niña, HMS Bounty and Kaisei.  One wristband will be issued for all four days and must be worn to tour the ships.


BOXED MEALS

Make your sailing adventure even more memorable with one of our tasty boxed meals.

A variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals are available to sate everyone’s palate.

Only boxed meals provided by Tall Ships® Tacoma are allowed on sailing vessels. You can add your boxed meal to your order when you purchase your sailing adventure.

All breakfasts include a piece of fruit, fruit juice and yogurt.

Lunch Options    $12
  • Turkey Sandwich (roasted turkey, avocado, cucumber, lettuce and provolone)
  • Ham Sandwich (ham, swiss cheese, lettuce, Dijon mustard and mayonnaise)
  • Chicken Wrap (chicken Caesar, tomato, lettuce and provolone)
  • Roast Beef Sandwich (roast beef, swiss cheese, red onion and bell pepper)
  • Veggie Sandwich (avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onions, cucumbers, and assorted cheeses)

All lunches include a bag of potato chips, dill pickle, and chocolate cookie.

SAILING ADVENTURES

If a sailing adventure is more to your taste, tickets are available for either morning, afternoon or evening sails on 15 ships.  Sailing adventures offer a unique opportunity to experience the romance and adventure of the high seas.

Some sailing adventures will include mock cannon battles with other vessels.  Evening adventures on July 4 will include viewing of the fireworks in Commencement Bay.

During your adventure you will be considered a “sail trainee” and must abide by all boarding regulations (see below).

All sail trainees must be present at least 30 minutes before sailing or their passage will be canceled without refund.   Standby tickets may be available on a first-come, first-served basis and are sold for cash only to those who are in line at least 30 minutes before departure.

GROUP SALES

A variety of group sale packages are available for boarding passes, festival picnics or Tall Ships® After Hours parties.  Each of these packages can be customized to create unique experiences. 

Groups of 20 or more will receive a 10 percent discount on boarding passes until June 27.

BOARDING REGULATIONS

  • No pets allowed on vessels.  Service dogs are permitted.
  • No glass containers are allowed on ships.
  • Proper footwear such as rubber-soled shoes, sneakers or boat shoes must be worn to board a vessel.  Absolutely no spike heels are permitted on board.
  • Visitors cannot sit on rails or bulwarks enclosing the decks.
  • Smoking is not permitted on board ships.
  • Visitors cannot climb or attempt to climb ships’ rigging unless authorized by the captain.
  • No strollers or wheelchairs are allowed on ships (unless specifically authorized).
  • No food, including chewing gum, or beverages are allowed on board.
  • Handrails must be used when boarding and departing the vessel.
  • Visitors will not run, jump or bounce on gangways.
  • The use of restrooms while on board is discouraged.

Sailing Adventure Policy

Sail trainees must be present at least 30 minutes before boarding otherwise their tickets will be revoked and may be offered to stand-by customers.  All sail trainees must sign a release before boarding.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A ticket is a revocable license and the Tacoma Tall Ships® Organization reserves the right to refund admission to vessels and festival grounds should management deem necessary. 

  • All sales are final.  TTSO will not refund or exchange tickets.
  • Tickets obtained from unauthorized sources may be lost, stolen or counterfeit and if so are voided. 
  • Ticket holder agrees to obey the rules of the City of Tacoma in conformance with city ordinances and rules. 
  • Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs or other controlled substances may not be brought onto the premises.
  • Ticket holder agrees to submit to a security search of purses, bags, backpacks, etc., before boarding.
  • Ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to boarding and sailing on vessels.
  • Ticket holder acknowledges that lines may be long and that boarding ships is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Ships are subject to change without notice.
